Respect the mic, so I check the mic PRE-CHORUS VERSE 1 To be an active listener you’ve got to use your eyes To some that might come as a surprise follow along with your eyes wherever the speaker goes see photos, videos or graphic info they may show Their face and body language have so much to add Are they excited, angry, happy or sad? visual aides give you a clue So microphone check one two one two PRE-CHORUS CHORUS VERSE 2 To be an active listener you’ve got to use your ears people been telling you that for years You might need to come near me to hear me Whatever it takes to hear the speaker more clearly You have some doubts? To figure it out you need to hear what I’m talking about open your ears and close your mouth, if everyone’s talking I’d have to shout Listen quietly, it’s the thing to do So microphone check one two one two PRE-CHORUS CHORUS VERSE 3 To be an active listener you’ve got to use your brain So you you can understand what’s strange until it’s simple and plain So you got to concentrate Think about what the speaker said, in other words contemplate You don’t need a distraction Keep your body still, no unnecessary actions I’ll do the same when I give the mic to you So microphone check one two one two PRE-CHORUS CHORUS

Audience and purpose should be considered at this point, and for the older students, a working thesis statement needs to be started.
Drafting: Students create their initial composition by writing down all their ideas in an organized way to convey a particular idea or present an argument. Audience and purpose need to be finalized. Revising: Students review, modify, and reorganize their work by rearranging, adding, or deleting content, and by making the tone, style, and content appropriate for the intended audience. The goal of this phase of the writing process is to improve the draft. Editing: At this point in the writing process, writers proofread and correct errors in grammar and mechanics, and edit to improve style and clarity. Having another writer’s feedback in this stage is helpful. Publishing: In this last step of the writing process, the final writing is shared with the group. Sharing can be accomplished in a variety of ways, and with the help of computers, it can even be printed or published online.

To count one bar just count to four Each count at the speed that you did before Do that again when you want some more Keep adding bars when you count to four To keep the beat or pat your feet to the drum We start with the finger right next to your thumb Now I’m going to show you how it’s done When the beat comes around we land on the one To keep the count going this is what you do Put up your next finger like saying peace to you But that’s something you already knew When the beat comes around hit the one two To show you easy this can be The ring finger is the next that you see It’s the next number we all can agree When the beat comes around count one two three
